ইয়াসিন পবিত্র কুরআনের ৩৬তম সুরা যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে পবিত্র মক্কাতে। রাসূল সা: বলেছেন, ‘সূরা ইয়াসিন কুরআনের হৃৎপিণ্ড।’

এই সুরায় রয়েছে পাঁচটি রুকূ ও ৮৩টি আয়াত। ইয়াসিন শব্দটি হুরূফ আল-মুকাত্তা’আত। পবিত্র কুরআনের বিভিন্ন সুরার প্রথমে এ ধরণের বিচ্ছিন্ন অক্ষরসমূহ রয়েছে যার প্রকৃত অর্থ অন্তর্ণিহিত তাৎপর্য কেবলমাত্র আল্লাহ পাক জানেন। মহান স্রষ্টা আল্লাহ তাআলা সব জ্ঞানের নির্যাস বিজ্ঞানময় আল কুরআন নাযিল করেছেন তাঁর সর্বশেষ রাসুল সা. এর উপর। যাতে তাঁর প্রিয় বান্দারা সতর্ক হতে পারে, সঠিক পথ পেতে পারে এবং জীবনের চূড়ান্ত লক্ষ্য, গন্তব্য ও কর্তব্য সম্পর্কে জেনে সে অনুযায়ী নিজেকে পরিচালিত করতে পারে।
