Kapital FM the station that rocks was instituted on the 3rd of August , 2002 .It began its operation in Gwagwalada before it was moved to the city centre in Area 10, Garki , Abuja. It is under the umbrella of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

Since it began its full operations potential in the city center, kapital FM has remained true to its mandate of upholding the high ethical standards of Radio Nigeria, providing innovative programmes, timely report and accurate news information and contemporary music. Kapital FM is Abuja operations’ flagship and available to the residents of FCT part of Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Kaduna, Benue, and Plateau, states. It has won prestigious awards in sports coverage, community relations and service.
