This book consists of six parts, namely: Part 1 is an introduction; Part 2 contains the biography of Fatima Mernissi, the condition of the Moroccan Islamic society since, before and after independence, the figures who influenced her to give rise to her ideas and lists Fatima Mernissi's written works; Part 3 highlights the position of women and their development in Islam, covering the position of women according to the Koran, Hadith, coupled with the position of women during the time of the Prophet and the Khulafa al-Rasyidin, as well as during Islamic dynasties and the Modern Age; Part 4 discusses the reasons for the decline of women in the Islamic world, regarding the attitudes of the rulers/caliphs who deviate from Islamic law, foster concubinage, slavery, and prohibit women from leaving the house; then due to the development of fake hadiths, especially misogyny hadiths.

Another thing that causes women's decline is the problem of stupidity; and the latter is caused by foreign (Western) penetration, especially in the field of culture that is not in accordance with Islamic teachings; Part 5 will elaborate on Fatima Mernissi's thoughts on the position of women in Islam, both in the political, economic, social and family law fields; Chapter 6 is the final part which contains the conclusions of this book.
