The figure of RM Soewardi Soerjaningrat, who later became known as Ki Hadjar Dewantara, was a phenomenal educational figure. Even though he could not achieve the title of doctor, this figure actually developed in the field of journalism. His work in the political field was manifested in writings that were published in newspapers and magazines both published by the Dutch East Indies and the Netherlands. As a character who is proficient in writing, he has a unique experience because he is detained and even banished because of the writing he produces. During the period of exile, he continued to write and often borrowed his energy to write in Dutch newspapers/weekends.

The profession of journalist and politician was left behind after returning from exile. Ki Hadjar Dewantara finally got involved in education after he founded an educational institution called the Taman Siswo Education Movement. High appreciation from the government was given to this figure, who made his birthday National Education Day, which is celebrated every May 2. Hopefully this book can complement the books that have been published previously with the hope that the Indonesian nation will still be able to appreciate the services of its heroes who have contributed to bringing this nation to the gate of independence and being able to compete with other nations.
