The Ashbah Wan Nadhoir Book is a book that discusses selected jurisprudential principles which are packaged briefly, concisely and systematically. This book contains selected rules taken from previous famous books, including Asybah Wan Nadhoir by Tajuddin As-Subki, Al-Majmu' al-Mudzab fi Dhabthi Qawaidil Mazhab by Abu Said Al-Alai, Al-Mantsur fil Qawaid, and many more.

This book, which is based on the Syafii school of thought, is superior in several ways. First, the presentation is concise and equipped with critical analysis and comparison between the opinions of other scholars. Second, the references he used were taken from the books of jurisprudence of the leading Syafii school of thought, such as Raudlatut Thalibin and Al-Manhaj (Imam Nawawi).

A Glimpse into the Author Asybah Wan Nadhoir

As mentioned previously, the author of Asybah Wan Nadhoir is Imam Suyuthi. Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi or known as Imam Suyuthi was born in 1445 AD or 849 Hijriah, he was one of the great scholars who lived in the 15th century in Cairo, Egypt.

In his book, Khusna al-Muhadharah, it is stated that he had received 150 diplomas from 150 teachers. Among his most famous teachers were Al-Bulqini and Taqiyyudin al-Manaawi.

Since childhood, he has been blessed with above average intelligence, lives in a conducive and peaceful environment, and has a family environment that is strong in scientific nuances.

Not only limited to male teachers, he also studied with women who were experts in fiqh and hadith heresies, including Umm Fadhal bint Muhammad Al-Maqdisi, Umm Hana Al-Mishriyyah, Aisyah bin Abdil Hadi, Sarah bint As-Siraj bin Jama'ah, and Zainab bint Al-Hafizh Al-Iraqi.

From a scientific perspective, there is no need to doubt him. Through his phenomenal work, Tafsir Jalalain, which is consumed by Muslims all over the world, especially in the field of interpretation, is more than enough proof of his scientific expertise.

After creating dozens of works, he decided to focus on worship, re-study his writings, and shun his worldly activities at the age of forty.

And at the age of 61 years, he died on Friday, 19 Jumadilawal 911 Hijriah at his residence, Radhah, near the Nile River. And his funeral was attended by thousands of people.
