Glenn Fredly began his career when he became the vocalist of "Funk Section". In 1995 (a year after he graduated from high school in 1994) Funk Section launched an exclusive album that was nicely packaged. Three years later, Glenn sang solo and launched an album titled GLENN with 8 songs. In this album there are 3 songs that are often sung by Glenn, namely "You" and "Simply Already" and "MOBIL MAMA" which became hits in Malaysia.

The second album was launched in 2000 with the title KEMBALI. In this album there are several hits such as "Salam For Friends" and "Kasih Putih". Like its first album, this album is still under Sony Music Indonesia with producer Aminoto Kosin. This album has the same fate as the previous album, although it is quite well known, but both of Glenn's albums have not fulfilled the major label wishes both in terms of popularity and sales.
