We are Future Tech Industries. Our goal is to improve education with the best modern technology has to offer. We have developed a smartphone app to increase class participation and communication outside of class. Our app, LecTech, is a forum-style discussion board where students can post and vote on class related questions and comments anonymously.

Professors can then respond in class, in real time. This eliminates the fear of asking a “dumb” question as well as greatly cuts down on wasting class time on questions that only one student has. It also increases the ability of the professor to gauge how well the class is grasping the topic. Any university trying to improve the quality of its education would want LecTech.

Our app is the next step after a similar technology, i<Clickers. i<Clickers allow instructors to ask questions in class and poll entire lectures at once. LecTech improves on this by allowing the students to ask their own questions. This has yet to be done. Yik Yak is also quite similar to this, but it is not designed for the classroom setting. LecTech will keep students engaged in the class and ensure that professors know how they’re doing.
