Empowers citizens to timely submit societal concerns with locational precision

M-power is a citizen science app that fosters information sharing between citizens and government with the aim of enhancing timely, effective and efficient decision making & public service delivery. The app on the one hand empowers citizens to precisely report to government issues/incidentces that inconvenience their day to day lives, while on the other hand, empowers government to satisfactorily provide requisite interventions, solutions and services to its citizens. Citizens can make submissions via two sub-apps, namely MapIT that currently focuses on mapping disaster related issues and ReportIT that currently focusses on mapping such inconveniences/incidences as power outages, water outages, disease epidemics, infrastructural & utility malfunctions, crime, accidents, conflict, among others. Near-real time visualization, analysis and feedback of submitted inconveniences / incidents is achieved via a robust and dynamic geo-portal – www.mpower-ke.co.ke.
