Harbor maneuvers for Catamarans 2.0 - Simulation

This multihull simulator has been specially developed for training port maneuvers with a catamaran. It was designed to meet many demands, since the maneuvering of a multihull in a harbor is quite different from that of a monohull. This training application describes the principle of maneuvers that are often practiced on catamarans. Each maneuver is explained in detail, and can be performed step by step in an animation. On the Cata simulator we control: the throttle position, the helm, the direction and the force of the wind, the gusts, the moorings, the anchor. There are also comments and a graphic representation of the forces during the maneuver. You can also perform pre-recorded maneuvers using an autopilot, or record your own maneuvers.

The training simulator is very realistic, you can maneuver the catamaran yourself under different conditions in order to fully understand its behavior. The reversal of the two motors can be perfectly simulated. In the training phases, resistance to forward movement, lateral resistance, resulting thrust, drift, inertia and many other parameters are taken into account. The simulator is continuously improved and new features are offered during updates which are done automatically. Each multihull maneuver takes place in an appropriate area, and we also have the essential explanations in the form of bubbles.
