A love dream

BB Seguros and Banco do Brasil present and sponsor Marc Chagall: Dream of Love, an exhibition comprising 186 works by the Franco-Russian artist, one of the most important names in modern art.

Marc Chagall used art to create a dreamlike universe of enchantment and poetry, in his paintings and in his literary texts, with the revolutionary use of shapes and colors. The master of the 20th century avant-garde, who was born in Russia in 1887 and died at age 98 in France, developed a unique trajectory, guided by the love of life.

Painter, ceramist and printmaker, Chagall merged cultures from the Jewish, Russian and Western worlds. He also moved through the surrealist, cubist and fauvist movements, in addition to graphic arts.

In Brazil, the show features very rare works, among which L’avare qui a perdu son trésor [The miser who lost his treasure], from 1927, stands out.

By holding this exhibition, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil reaffirms its support for the visual arts and cultural exchange, as well as its commitment to promoting access to culture.
