About Military conflicts in Bulgaria - East and the West

Map of military conflicts in Bulgarian lands from antiquity to modern times.

This appendix aims to show the military conflicts of the territories inhabited by Bulgarians during the main historical eras - Antiquity, Middle Ages and Modern Times. Each of the objects presented in it is selected by the members of the team and is accompanied by a text explaining its significance for the history and archeology of Bulgaria. The ambition of the authors of the application is to show military conflicts, fortification systems and facilities, as well as military routes that have crossed this part of the Balkan Peninsula, inhabited mainly by Bulgarians. The application will be completed with the necessary information on a continuous basis and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

The members of the team created the information are: Associate Professor Dr. Stoyan Popov, Associate Professor Dr. Simeon Katsarov, Associate Professor Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Associate Professor Dr. Georgi Mitrev and Assistant Professor Dr. Stanislav Boyanov.

The application is funded under project N10/2 to the Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science.
