About mobileEOM

EOM provides access and analysis tools for global vegetation time-series data.

The Earth Observation Monitor (EOM) is a product based on the Siberian Earth System Science Cluster (http://www.sibessc.uni-jena.de) established at the Department of Earth Observation at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena (Germany). Its development is part of a current dissertation about operational provision of web services for an automatical monitoring of spatial time-series data.

Time-series data from NASA MODIS sensor is provided for easy access and analysis. MODIS Vegetation data are provided by Google Earth Engine. Further information to the datasets are provided on the EOM website (http://www.earth-observation-monitor.net).

For analyses the decomposition plot is generated from "decompose" function of R. BFAST (Breaks For Additive Season and Trend, http://bfast.r-forge.r-project.org) is used for breakpoint detection, greenbrown (http://greenbrown.r-forge.r-project.org) for trend analyses, and TIMESAT (http://www.nateko.lu.se/timesat) for phenological metrics.

These developments and the Ph.D. work is funded by the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena (Germany) and supported by Jonas Eberle - Web- & Software-Development, Jena.
