Nebbercracker: Stay off my lawn, stay away from my house

Halloween is just a few days away. Twelve-year-old DJ lives on a typical block of cottages, with the exception of Mr. Nebbercracker's house, which is right across the street from his house. Nebbercracker is a creepy lonely and grumpy old man who confiscates all the objects that happen to end up in his garden and aggressively chases away those who approach his house.

The boy's parents entrust him to babysitter Zee as they leave town over the weekend. DJ and his friend "Timbale" play basketball and the ball ends up on Nebbercracker's lawn.

Just as the two are about to retrieve it, the old man leaves the house shouting but, at a certain point, he falls to the ground, apparently suffering from a heart attack.

However, even after Nebbercracker's disappearance, strange events continue to happen: that same night, DJ receives a phone call (which turns out to come from the uninhabited house) and Punk, the babysitter's boyfriend, following an argument, disappears (it turns out being eaten by the house). To find out what is happening, DJ and Timballo go to the courtyard of the house at night and it suddenly comes alive and tries to eat the boys. Terrified, the two flee to DJ's house and stay up all night checking the house for other phenomena.
