Asilomar State Beach embraces both the architecture of Julia Morgan, California’s first licensed woman architect, and peaceful walks along Asilomar’s wide sandy beach and Marine Protected tidepools. Point Lobos State Natural Reserve offers views of cavorting sea otters, migrating gray whales and a variety of birds in an unrivaled natural setting. Traveling south to Big Sur reveals the historic Light Station at Point Sur State Historic Park, with the final audio tour culminating at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park which offers hiking trails through redwood trees, and a waterfall at the Pfeiffer Falls trail.
