Not so into organizing a ride? Show up for one! If you’ve never participated in race like this before, read up about the format so you aren’t confused—for instance, unlike most races and rides that have a set route, at these everyone splits up and finds their own way, and if you like, a friend to ride with.

Don’t forget the fun!

Seriously, don’t. The event is billed as a race, but that doesn’t mean you have to be an athlete to participate. We can help set the tone for fun, too. We suggests: “While some people will get into the competitive nature of the race, most people are in it to have fun and buy some food for the food bank. So be sure to have some rewards for things like ‘best costume’ or ‘youngest participant.’
