Mehndi is the art of decorating the body with Henna.

Mehndi blended from a plant leaf called Henna or Lawsonia Inermis.

The word Henna comes from Arabic for Lawsonia Inermis plant which is pronounced as Hinna. The exact origin of mehndi is hard to say because this art has been nearly 5000 years old. Some historians say that the Moguls brought mehndi to India but other historians say that the origin of mehndi is Indian, while others say that the origin of mehndi is the Middle East or North Africa.

Henna can be used on body parts by making patterns and beautiful designs.

Henna is also known for its healing and therapeutic properties. Since antiquity, henna used to nourish hair to be more shiny, serves as a hair conditioner and good for the scalp.
