The nssX® app is a free app for US military service members, veterans and their families

Use the nssX® app to block unwanted telemarketer calls, detect spam SMS messages, avoid fraud numbers/spoof calls, and protect members of your unit

The nssX® app uses real-time information provided by users to determine which calls and SMS messages are dangerous. Users provide data by simply tapping the safe/unsafe button. This information helps to protect the entire community. Users who participate in the network, earn reward points that can be redeemed for either gift cards.

The nssX® app also serves as our portal to safely apply for veteran compensation benefits.

Privacy and Data Protection

The nssX® app loads your Contacts List on your device to create a safe caller list to allow them to ring your phone, create a call log, and show the caller’s information in our user interfaces. The nssX® also loads your Contacts List on the device and not in our servers, to enable you to establish a Safelist of callers, Purple Alerts list, and Blocked callers list. Purple Alerts notifications are sent from your device to our https://b95fb.playfabapi.com and the Vetnet.io server and the Contacts you have selected to receive notifications. The nssX® app will not function properly without these permissions.

When you choose the optional invite friends feature, the nssX® app also loads your Contacts List to send a deep link invitation to each Contact to purchase the nssX® app. Both you and your Contact earn points.

The Spoof Detection feature loads your Contacts List on your device, to send a deep link invitation to your Safe Callers in order to send a pre-call notification to verify the caller’s device and prevent spoofing.

The nssX® app uploads your SMS Log on the device to scan text messages for SPAM content.

The nssX® only analyzes SMS and MMS messages from unknown senders. When a suspicious message is detected from an unknown sender, a notification is automatically sent to our https://b95fb.playfabapi.com backend server, and a notification is generated to notify members of your unit you have designated as a Favorite in your Contacts List. The notifications sent to your Contacts and to us at https://b95fb.playfabapi.com, include the original SMS or MMS message content, as well as the date and time, approximate location of your device, and Caller Identification of the sender. The message content and notifications are stored in our PlayFab server for up to three years and then destroyed.
