Indonesia is a country with a plural population distribution and variants. This plurality is related to ethnicity, nation, culture, language and religion, as well as an invaluable national wealth. This situation can be seen from the Shia-Suni that occurred in Sampang-Madura, the attack that was experienced by the Philadelphia HKBP church congregation, the case of closing the church and the violence experienced by the GKI Yasmin congregation, as well as cases of discrimination against the Ahmadiyya and Shia congregations, the burning of monasteries and temples in Tanjung Balai, as well as several other cases that show the same thing.

On the other hand, even though it is faintly heard, there are inspirational figures who take care of diversity, especially religion, and make it a unifier between different communities. Community work to create peace between religious communities in Ambon, Palu, Kupang and Wonosobo is another story that offsets the previous cases.

The question is why, with the same government structure, the same police structure and security apparatus, there are striking differences. Some places show situations where diversity is a means of solving conflicts, while on the other hand diversity is actually a unifier.
