Hide secret messages in an image and then you can store the image where you like

Paranoia is an app which allows hiding secrets in an image.

How many times have you forgotten a password or a code? And How many times you know you've saved it somewhere, but you can't remember where?

The best way to keep a secret is to hide it in plain sight, well camouflaged so it doesn't draw any attention.

Paranoia does that while also providing an extra security layer by allowing to protect the secret with a key. In other words, even if someone realizes there's a secret, they won't be able to unravel it without having the key.

The secret is stored, in a dissimulated fashion, in an image, preferably one with a special meaning so that you don't forget where it is being kept.

That image can be stored on your phone/tablet or in an online storage service (like dropbox, gdrive, flickr). You could also e-mail it and just keep it in your inbox.

There's no danger of it being seen by anyone since, they won't know that there's a secret there, and even if they have a hunch, it cannot be accessed without knowing/having the key.

Whenever you need to retrieve your secret just open the image in Paranoia and type in your password.

If you are paranoid about security you can add one, or several, false secrets and state that the real one is only displayed after a certain number of reveals (repeated) of the false secret(s). This way, even if you are forced to provide your password, what's shown in a fake, with the real one only showing up after a number of attempts decided by you. How many attempts are necessary depends on your degree of paranoia. Besides that, by mixing fakes with the real one, you can prevent a possible intruder from getting your secret.

Another interesting application of Paranoia is the covert sending of messages in images. The message may be protected with a password (which has to be known to the receiver) and a display time limit can also be defined, in other words, it is only visible for N seconds :-)

Last, but not the least, the secret could be one or several text messages or images/photos. So if you want to send someone a private photo you can hide it inside a harmless one ;-)
