Air Pollution Control App

Air pollution is an immense problem for everyone, every day. Every city is facing the

problem of rising effluents, thus posing a serious health risk. Through the principles of

Intelligent Transport Systems, tackling air pollution in a city is fairly simple and easily

implementable, through a number of different subtasks. These tasks are cheap to enforce

and are extremely accessible to the public.

The aim of intelligent transport systems is to indirectly abate air pollution, mainly that of

vehicles, by restricting entry in certain areas, limiting quantity, and also promoting human

initiatives by calculating and reading real time pollution related data and notifying the

operators and the air pollution authorities about the same.

This application calculates the mass of Carbon Dioxide released as well as its Air Quality Index (AQI) for a set area.

Users can input the car model, the year it was bought in, and the fuel type to get the mass of the gas released,

or input the number of cars in a particular area to get the AQI.

This app will hopefully help reduce pollution due to vehicular emissions by making people more aware about pollution emitted

in real time.
