Philodendron is a type of plant from the Araceae tribe, which has many species. Its name comes from the Greek, namely from the words philo ("love") and dendron ("tree"). Because of the beauty of the shape and color of the leaves, Philodendron is much preferred as a room or garden ornamental plant.

Philodendron is a plant that is often found in tropical forests such as Indonesia. Usually grows in damp places, in swamps, on river banks, or on roadsides. Many living members propagate on other plants with the help of their roots.
