Plan India has been implementing the Young Health Programme.

Plan India has been implementing the Young Health Programme (YHP), which is a global initiative that supports and promotes the health and wellbeing of young people (aged 10 – 24), in marginalized communities worldwide through research, advocacy and on-the-ground programmes.

The YHP focuses on the prevention of non-communicable diseases and has since 2010 been implemented in Zambia, Brazil, India, Kenya, Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia. In December 2021 Plan International expanded the YHP to the Bangaluru area in India where NCDs pose a significant threat. The YHP in India is implemented in three states – Delhi, Karnataka and Chennai. The YHP has been developing a generic online MIS system in order to maximize efficiency of data collection, and quality of the project in the field.

The project follows concepts of Peer Educator and Health Information Centre (HIC) methodology in the field in all three states and fourteen HIC. Through both concepts PE Education is focused with young people and other stakeholders to prevent NCD risks in the under-resourced colonies. Hereafter the proposal document contains technical approach and information regarding the development of online mis web dashboard application and mobile application for Young Health Programme India.
