About Prières pour le Carême,l'Avent

The Lent and Advent prayer is a time of reflection and renewed faith

Advent is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. Advent comes from the Latin word which means "to come" and Jesus is coming.

We often miss the power of Advent as these December weeks are full of secular Christmas celebrations and Christmas preparations. Each year, the hustle and bustle of this season serves to distract us from having an Advent season that truly prepares us for the celebration of Christmas, with all its meaning. This site offers simple ways to enter this Advent season, week after week, at the heart of our daily lives.

While we generally think of Advent as a joyous season, it is also meant to be a time of preparation, much like Lent. Prayer, penance, and fasting are appropriate during this season.

Millions of people do this during Lent as a sign of sacrifice and to test their self-discipline. Christians believe this represents the sacrifice of Jesus Christ when he went into the wilderness to pray and fast for the 40 days before he later died on the cross.

There is nothing magical about the act itself, but through it there is an invitation to intentionally hear from God, to stop, to reflect, to pray, to forgive, to love and to to act.

Nativity Lent (Advent Lent) begins on December 1 and ends on Christmas Day. It is the season of preparation. "Advent" is a Latin word meaning "a coming or an arrival". This is the season to prepare for the arrival of Jesus. May this season be blessed for each of us.

As we fast, let's create some space in our hearts to receive our Lord Jesus Christ who was born in the City of David about 2,000 years ago.

A series of reflections on Lent, similar to the Advent prayer calendar, this space is an invitation to reflect daily on what God says to you through his word throughout the period of Lent.

Lent is a season of the Christian calendar, the 40 days (plus 7 Sundays, so 47 days in total) that precede Easter Sunday which is adopted by many traditions of the Christian Church around the world.

Lent is a time of reflection and renewed faith as we focus on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Use these Lenten prayers when taking the time to sacrifice yourself to eliminate distractions and re-commit your life to Jesus.

You might initially think that Lent is just about giving up junk food or vowing once again to create healthy habits in your life, but I discovered a much deeper (and more powerful) purpose behind these weeks. preceding Easter. We invite you to read on and see if the Lord could move in your heart at the start of this Lenten season. Maybe these Lent will echo your heart's own prayers, and maybe this season will also be one that you enjoy in new ways.

It is, for me, the essence of Lent. Be surprised by the joy. Sacrificing ourselves as we focus on greater intimacy and oneness with Christ. Finding our truest joy in Jesus alone.
