Road signs and signals are categorized as Mandatory Signs, Warning Signs, and Informative Signs.

Types of Road Signs & their Meanings:

By the way, there are various physical signs are marked on the roads and highways. They are different according to types, colors, and shapes for specific purposes. But collectively, they are categorized into 5 general signs. Let’s see what they are…

1. Mandatory Road Signs

These signs, also known as regulatory signs, are mainly marked to give orders to road users and require instant implementation. They are usually round in shape and mostly have black symbols, red borders, and white backgrounds. However, some are white symbols and blue backgrounds as well.

2. Warning Road Signs

4. Motorway Road Signs

These are also a kind of informatory signs and specific for motorway movers. In order to identify the directions, the distance of the routes with other cities, road exits, and more, motorway road signs assist a lot. They are depicted via blue, green, and brown rectangular boards.
