Dear Reader, this kutaib (little book) from Safinantun Najah's matan is a matan that has been studied a lot by Indonesian students because the compiler of this matan belonged to the Shafi'i school of thought where he was born in Hadromaut Yemen and emigrated to preach in Batavia, Java and died there.

Studying a madhhab by starting from a small age is a must for students of knowledge so that they have a grip and have a little insight into their madhhab, are not stiff in facing mistakes (differences), and believe in religion based on propositions.

Many religious people follow suit and measure truth by the number of perpetrators, even though truth is measured by propositions.

Just a simple example, people generally think that wide headscarves and veils are deviant or extreme religious practices, even though wide headscarves and veils are the Ash-Shafi'i school of thought as mentioned by the compiler of this matan in Fasal Aurot.

What I did in translating this matan was:

1. Translate what is in easy and concise language.

2. I mentioned and explained all the sharia terms in brackets except for the 'Ab'ad lafazh which I did not find an explanation of in the sharia (Kasyifatus Suja by Shaykh Nawawi Al-Bantani). Until now I don't understand what 'Ab'ad means here.

3. To make it easier, I added subtitles to each discussion. All words in square brackets “[ ]” are translator's additions.

4. I mentioned all the Arabic texts and then followed the translation in the hope that it can be used by those who want to memorize it or know the original text.

It should be noted that the compiler of Safinatun Najah only completed the fiqh chapter up to the Zakat chapter, while the Fasting chapter was completed by Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani.

Hopefully the material content of this application can be useful for self-introspection and better improvement in everyday life.
