Salmo 66

Great Psalm

1 Praise God, people of all the earth!

2 Sing praises to his glorious name; praise him gloriously!

3 Tell God, “How fearful are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies creep before you!

4 All the earth worships you and sings praises to you, sings praises to your name. ”

5 Come and see what God has done; how impressive are his works for men!

6 He turned the sea into dry land, and the people crossed the waters on foot. and there we rejoice in him.

7 He rules forever with his might, his eyes watch over the nations; may the rebels not rise up against him!

8 Bless our God, ye peoples, make the sound of his praise to sound;

9 He was the one who preserved our lives by keeping our feet from slipping.

10 For you, O God, have tested us and refined us like silver.

11 You have caused us to fall into a trap, and upon your back you have put burdens.

12 Thou hast let the enemies ride upon our head; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of plenty.

13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you,

14 vows that my lips made and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.

15 I will offer you fat animals for a burnt offering; I will sacrifice rams, whose smoke will go up to you, and bullocks and goats.

16 Come and listen, all of you who fear God; I will tell you what he did for me.

17 I cried unto him with my lips; With my tongue I exalted him.

18 If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not listen to me.

19 But God listened to me, heeded the prayer which I said unto him.

20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer nor taken away his love from me!
