The publication of the book Classical Islamic History is an effort to meet the reading needs of students and the general public. The first part of this book is an introduction to understanding history as a scientific discipline. Thus, this section discusses the notion of history, in order to study history, theory, methodology and historical methods. There is also a section on Islamic historiography to provide readers with information about the literature necessary if they wish to study Islamic history in greater depth. The second part of this book contains the Life History of the Prophet Muhammad, covering the condition of the Arab nation before Islam came, the Mecca period and the Medina period.

The writing in the second part is a revision of my writing in the earlier part of a book published in 2012 entitled Reinterpretation of Classical Islamic History.

The contents of this book do not discuss the entire period of Classical Islamic History as usual (ie from the time of the Prophet Muhammad to the first period of the Abbasid Daula in Baghdad). This book actually describes material that is usually given to students at the beginning of face-to-face lectures. The chapter on history is structured to provide an overview of history as a science and what to study history for. In the History of Islamic Civilization course, for example, after learning about what and how to study history, then enter material about the background of the Arab nation before Islam.
