Overview of Forgotten History

Truth is a simple word with complex meanings. In our daily lives, we often hear the root words of truth, "right", as something that is absolutely the opposite of the word "wrong". The Big Indonesian Dictionary also means 'true' as something that is ‘appropriate as it is (supposed to); correct; not wrong'. However, said the philosophers, something we interpret as truth can also be seen from the side of facts, logic, or ethics. One plus one equals two, for example, is a truth because it is true both in terms of logic and fact.

Findings recorded nine provinces with the most cases of violence, namely Central Java, Central Sulawesi, Papua and West Papua, Aceh, North Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, Jakarta and East Java. In addition, the team also recorded many victims of violence from Timor Leste (the territory of the former province of Indonesia). From their data cases, the documentation team found that the five most reported types of crime were events related to the 1965 tragedy, military operations, natural resource conflicts, attacks on human rights groups, and forced ideology. Of the five types of events, the documentation team also noted that the most common forms of crime were arbitrary arrest and detention, imprisonment without legal proceedings, forced labor, compulsory reporting and restrictions on moving / traveling, enforced disappearance, land grabbing and property, property damage, torture, physical abuse, and murder.
