Shinee is a South Korean male singer group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2008. The group originally consisted of five members, namely Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin. At the end of 2017, Jonghyun passed away. They officially debuted on SBS's Inkigayo music program on May 25, 2008 with a single titled "Replay".

Since debut, Shinee has released nine studio albums (five Korean-speaking and four Japanese-speaking), five mini albums, three live albums and several Japanese singles and a Japanese remake of their Korean songs. The group has also won numerous awards, holding four concert tours and starring in their own reality show. Shinee is considered a fashion icon after creating a style of dress called "Shinee Trends", in addition this group is also known for their compact and elaborate dance movements.

They debuted in Japan on June 22, 2011 with the Japanese version of the single "Replay". The single sold over 100,000 copies and became the highest-selling K-pop single recorded by Oricon at the time. Their first Japanese studio album, The First, was released on December 7, 2011 and was followed by Boys Meet U (2013), I'm Your Boy (2014) and D × D × D (2016)
