Simple Location to SMS

Easily and quickly send a SMS with your location information

Note: This app is dead-simple by design and you shouldn't expect any bells and whistles. If you need more or different features, please keep searching for alternatives.

* What it does?

- It gets your current location and tries to determine human-readable (Geocoder) position (i.e. city, address, etc)

- You can then quickly send a SMS to selected number(s), with the textual content describing where are you currently

- The message template is configurable

- It is possible to tap on map to replace the location before sending

* What it does not do?

- It does not wasting battery by continuously checking the current location - location is checked only on startup or by manual request

- It does not send messages automatically

- It does not send messages on recipient's request

- It does not keep location history in either local or online database

- It does not contact online servers for any reason

* Why is it useful?

One (and originally intended) use: while traveling, you can periodically send SMS with city name that you are currently in.
