All the information contained in this guide is a synthesis of various books and scientific studies carried out by recognized professionals and experts in herpetology, written in a simple and easy to understand language, always thinking in all those people who would not otherwise have easy access to these knowledge. It is also accompanied by some of my illustrations and a large number of full color photos, donated by great photographers from Venezuela and other parts of the world.

I hope that this portable guide contributes to reduce the high number of snakebites that occur in the country or at least help to raise awareness about this problem, in addition I want to opening to the public a small window to the enormous biological diversity that inhabits this tropical paradise called Venezuela.
