About Skulls & Bones Wallpapers

4K, HD, HQ skulls and bones wallpapers, vertical backgrounds

The skull (cranium) is a very strong bone protection system that surrounds the brain. It is made up of 8 different bones. The bone structure of the skull is unique. The junctions of the bones have an indented structure. The reason is that the junction points of the skull bones are designed to pass into each other. Only the jawbone plays in the skull. Other bones do not play.

It has a very hard and strong structure in an adult individual. However, a newborn baby has a completely different structure. The skull of the baby, which comes out of the mother's womb, has not yet turned into a bone and has a soft structure. In addition, these 8 bones that make up the skull did not fit together completely. Spaces (fontanelle, fontanel) have formed between the junction points of the bones. Although it may seem like a disadvantage at first glance, it is actually a feature that saves the life of the baby at birth. If the baby's head had a solid bone structure and there were no gaps in between, the probability of the baby's head being crushed during birth would be very high. However, due to the cartilage and soft structure that make up the skull bones in babies, the bones gain flexibility and have the ability to bend and twist. But just stretching is obviously not enough. Space is also needed for the skull to stretch. This area is the skull space that is not fully closed during birth. The skull bones are compressed, filling the space between them. They even rise towards each other. Thus, the volume of the head is also reduced. In this way, the baby is born in a healthy way by passing through the birth canal, which is half the volume of the head. The uppermost part of the skeleton in vertebrates; It determines the shape of the head and protects the organs inside. Bone is the hardest of the tissues that make up the body. It is the tissue that serves as a real support in the organism. They are also the calcium stores of the organism. They are hard because they are saturated with calcium. Although they are hard, their difference from cartilage tissue is that they contain vessels. There are various types of cells (osteocytes, osteoblasts, osteoclasts) and intercellular substances (matrix) in this tissue structure. When the cross-section of the bone is examined, its outer and inner surfaces are covered with a membrane. To the outside of these; periosteum, to that of the inner surface; called endosteum. These membranes are made of irregular tight connective tissue. Just below the periosteum is the outer annular system. Just above the endosteum is the inner annular system. Osteons, also known as Haversian systems, fill in between the inner and outer annular systems. In the middle of the osteons are the Haversian canals, through which blood vessels pass. Neighboring Haversian canals converge via Volkmann canals. An adult human skeleton consists of 207 bones. But a newborn baby has close to 300 bones. The reason for this difference is the emergence of new bones as the bones merge over time as a person becomes an adult.
