Smt. S. M. Panchal Science College Talod

The decisions, the efforts, the sweat and blood those well wishers of the society who saw a small dream in past have flourished into a full fledged unit at present. A small college back in 1960, for which the foundation stone was laid by the former Prime Minister Mr. Gulzarilal Nanda, with only 130 students in one of the most educationally and geographically backward towns is now successfully vibrating with tremendous strength after 60 years.

With five major fundamental subjects at under graduate level and four subjects at post graduate level, the future plans are far promising with the submission of our proposal to the University to start a self- financed degree course in Bio- technology from June 2010. Since the college imparts education up to Post graduation level, it has become a place of preference for not only the students of North Gujarat region but also for the other parts of state including the capital Gandhinagar as well as for bordering state, Rajasthan.

Among the existing teaching staff members, 45% members are Ph.D. degree holders and actively engaged in the research activities and some others are continuing with the research work. All are participating in various seminars and symposia regularly. Apart from the academic activities, encouraging students for extra curricular activities and counseling them for future prospects are regularly practiced by all the staff members. Over and above efforts are made to arrange campus interviews by inviting various companies.
