Recite and read Surah Al-Kahf

We hear a lot about the many benefits of reciting Surah al Kahf on Friday, but why is it so important? Let’s find out.

The English name of Surah al-Kahf is “the cave”, it is the surah number 18 with only 110 verses that carries many stories and lessons for us.

From this Surah, we learned that we must say inshaAllah before doing anything, the story of the man who had two beautiful gardens, the people of the cave who had faith in Allah and asked for his protection, and the story of Dhul-Qarnayn. And here are hadiths about reciting Surah al-Kahf every Friday.

Abu Saeed al-Khurdi narrated:

“Whoever reads Surah al Kahf on the night of Jummah (Friday), will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (Kabah).”

“Whoever reads Surah al Kahf on the day of Jummah (Friday) will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.”

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) said: “One who memorized the first ten verses of Surah al Kahf will be secure against the Dajjal. Toto asks Allah for his protection from the Dajjal who will come in the end and bring destruction and chaos, you should then read and memorize the first ten verses of surah al Kahf. All the disbelievers and people with weak faith will believe him and follow him, and as believers, we should ask Allah for his protection and help.

Ibn Mardwiyah Al Daiyaa narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) said:

“Whoever reads Surah al Kahf on yaumul Jummah, is immune for 8 days from all fitnah that will happen. When the Dajjal comes out, he will be immune to him.”
