Tarung Derajat is a martial art originating from Indonesia created by Achmad Dradjat. He developed the technique through his experience fighting on the streets in the 1960s in Bandung. Tarung Derajat is officially recognized as a national sport and is used as a basic martial arts training by the Army and Police Mobile Brigade.

Tarung Derajat was declared his birth in Bandung on July 18, 1972 by Achmad Dradjat who was usually called Aa Boxer. "Box!" is a greeting of brotherhood among members of Tarung Derajat. Tarung Derajat emphasizes the aggressiveness of attacks in hitting and kicking. However, it is not limited to the technique alone, slamming, locking, and sweeping feet are also included in the training method. Tarung Derajat is dubbed the "Boxer". Practitioner Tarung Derajat is called "Petarung".

Since the 1990s, Tarung Derajat has been perfected for sports. In 1998, Tarung Derajat officially became a member of KONI. Since then, Tarung Derajat has a place at the National Sports Week. [1] Tarung Derajat Family Sports now has suborganizations in 22 provinces in Indonesia. After being introduced at the 2011 SEA Games in Palembang, Tarung Derajat was not included in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar.
