About The Pulpit Commentaries - J.Ex

The Pulpit Commentaries - Rev. J.Exell (Trial Version)

In its day The Pulpit Commentary was one of the largest and best-selling sermon commentary sets. The editors were Joseph Exell and Henry Donald Maurice Spence-Jones. The Pulpit Commentary draws from over 100 authors over a 30-year period to bring together this conservative and trustworthy sermon commentary set. It has been a favorite of ministers for nearly a century. The Pulpit Commentary offers ideas and insight on "How to Preach It" the entire Bible.

This detailed commentary brings together three important elements for better preaching:

- Exposition - with in-depth verse-by-verse commentary.

- Preaching for the "big picture" level of the text.

- Sermons - with four to six sermons sample sermons from various authors.

Also this set adds detailed information on biblical customs in addition to historical and geographical information, and translations of key Hebrew and Greek words.

In total The Pulpit Commentary has over 22,000 pages and 95,000 entries from 23 volumes.

This version of the Commentary is cross-linked to the World English Bible.
