The cultivation of olive groves stands out as the majority use of its lands, highlighting that in Torreperogil the proportion between dryland cultivation and irrigated cultivation is practically very similar, which is why it has important final productions, in addition to having one of the best virgin oils. extra from the province of Jaén. Also a large area of ​​land dedicated to the cultivation of vines, which provides a wine of quality estimated at the provincial level, turning out to be one of the few municipalities in Jaén with wine production and that has the Protected Geographical Indication "Wines from the land of Torreperogil" which covers Torreperogil and other nearby municipalities, thus being the largest wine producer in the province.

The cultivation of chickpeas and vegetables gains importance in the fruit and vegetable fields of the Guadalquivir Valley where large crops are planted in the meadows to the south of the municipality.

In terms of traditions, its patron saint festivities are celebrated around September 8, the patron saint's day. Also of great interest is one of its most beloved and highly traditional festivities: CARNIVAL, which, despite government prohibitions, was maintained during the Francoism and in which the MASCAROTE, a character disguised in old clothes who scolds the audience, becomes the most genuine character of this festival that has not suffered cuts throughout its history.

Regarding industrial activity, it is worth noting that the predominant sector is construction, which operates both within the municipality itself and in the rest of the region, occupying third place in number of companies and factories after Úbeda and Baeza.

Its historical heritage highlights the remains of the D. Pero Gil Castle from the 13th century, currently called the “Dark Towers” ​​Municipal Auditorium, an idyllic place dedicated to hosting activities related to culture such as our summer festivals.
