About Trapped!

Enjoy millions of the latest Android apps, games, music, movies, TV, books, magazines & more. Anytime, anywhere, across your devices.

This is an experiment on alternative control methods for an FPS game. It is kind of playable, so I decided to publish it.

Still it's very simple, with no code optimizations (might run slow) and a few glitches and bugs (and more to show up on different hardware).

In any case, the main point, aside from being trapped in a room and having to kill the incoming waves of baddies, is using the projector mode to have a 'magic flashlight' effect:

Hook up the phone to a pico projector, hold projector and phone and use them like a flashlight/gun. By pointing to a wall you'll see the virtual world corresponding to spot... call it 'augmented virtuality'...

(see the video on my site to get an idea of how it works).

Note that the sensors are very sensitive to magnetic fields so make sure that you keep a distance from metal and magnets (e.g. projector's speakers). Also, you might need to calibrate the compass (wave the phone on an 8 shape... or google about calibrating the compass).

That's it, keep in mind this is a test (i.e. classic and virtual modes are currently not working very well, as I was focusing in the projector mode)...

enjoy!
