Viaggio nelle voci del sud

A journey into extraordinary traditions handed down over time.

The Viaggio nelle Voci del Sud App presents relevant documentation regarding the traditions of the territories of Basilicata and Puglia including songs, dances, stories, fairy tales and rituals.

The PON project for the conservation, valorization and networking of the intangible heritage of Basilicata and Puglia was created by the Central Institute for Sound and Audiovisual Heritage. The Central Institute for Intangible Heritage, the Central Institute for Catalog and Documentation, the Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Basilicata and the University of Salento were also involved in the planning.

The geolocalized application uses the project's various multimedia archives as a source and accompanies the discovery of the cultural heritage of the two regions.

Furthermore, the results of the project are presented both on a holographic screen with the help of an avatar equipped with artificial intelligence, called Aurora in homage to Aurora Milillo and the protagonist of a fairy tale, and through multimedia exhibitions. The latter are dedicated to Ernesto de Martino, Diego Carpitella, Alberto Mario Cirese and Aurora Milillo, and allow you to know and appreciate this extraordinary heritage.
