Zinédine Yazid Zidane is a French coach and former footballer of Algerian origin who played

as a midfielder. He is currently without a club.

As a player, he was a classic number 10 and is considered one of the greatest of all time.

Zidane is considered the greatest player in the history of French football, often being

compared to his compatriot Michel Platini. During his career, he defended teams such as

Juventus and Real Madrid, and was also present in the most successful phase in the history

of the French team, which won the first World Cup in 1998 and the second European

Championship title in its history (the other was won in the Platini era). In fact, he personified

the rise of the Bleus, until then seen as an average force, to the ranks of the major teams, in

a change that came to be seen as a sporting "Bastille Fall".
