BigT's is a family-run business founded in the early 2000s. Co founder Ernestina Kotey discovered her passion for cooking at the age of 13, where she began cooking for her whole family. Ernestina's career in catering grew rapidly over the years in which she would cater for private functions and large gatherings. In 1998 she went on to advance her cooking skills professionally by acquiring prestigious qualifications in the catering industry. Ernestina became very popular in her local community by providing a range of catering services for the Afro-Caribbean community where she would cook for as little as 50 people up to 1,000! Without a doubt, her career advanced even further when an opportunity came up to take over a restaurant and bar business based in Walthamstow which she previously helped a friend to manage. By 2011, Ernestina Kotey, who had now become a brand known as Big T's, had become very popular in the Afro-Caribbean community across London, Kent and Essex and had started to create attractions in other cultural communities.
