This Science Book for Class IX SMP/MTs was prepared with the above in mind. The field of Biology is used as a platform for discussion of other fields of science. Living creatures are used as objects to explain the basic principles that govern nature such as natural objects and their interactions, energy and balance, etc.

Through discussions using various fields of science in the natural sciences group, a complete understanding of the nature they inhabit and the natural objects found around them can be mastered by SMP/MTs students.

As one of the groups of sciences used to measure a country's educational progress, a country's students' understanding of science is routinely compared as done through TIMSS (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PISA (Program for International Student Assessment).

Through international assessments like this, we can find out the quality of science learning in Indonesia compared to other countries. The science material in the 2013 Curriculum has been adapted to the demands for mastering science material according to TIMSS and PISA.

In accordance with the 2013 Curriculum concept, this book is prepared referring to science learning in an integrated and complete manner. For each knowledge taught, learning must be continued until students become skilled in presenting the knowledge they have mastered in concrete and abstract ways. Apart from that, students are directed to be able to act as creatures who are grateful for the gifts of the universe that have been given to them through responsible use.

This book describes the minimum effort that students must make to achieve the expected competencies. In accordance with the approach used in the 2013 Curriculum, students are encouraged to dare to look for other learning resources that are available and spread widely around them. The teacher's role is very important to increase and adapt students' absorption capacity to the availability of activities in this book. Teachers can enrich activities by creating other appropriate and relevant forms of activities that originate from the social and natural environment.

This book is very open to various input and continues to be improved and perfected. For this reason, we invite readers to provide criticism, suggestions and input to improve and perfect this book.
