Official application of the Military Trade Unions of Serbia.

The initiative on the establishment of military trade unions have launched in autumn 2012, Predrag Jevtić current Secretary General VSS and interpreter Dusko, now President of the VSS.

With a group of his colleagues from Sombor and other towns in Serbia, on 27.11.2012. was officially formed and registered trade union Serbian Military.

The union was formed with the idea that it is based solely on the will of its members, independent of the employer and trade unions and other institutions and, as such, is able to work exclusively in the interest of their members, members of the Army of Serbia and in accordance with their needs. This idea was quickly recognized and supported a large number of employees in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, which is why the Military Union of Serbia began to spread rapidly throughout the territory of the Republic of Serbia. Shortly after the formation of union groups Sombor, was followed by the formation of union groups Batajnica, Kraljevo then union groups to the expansion of the Military Trade Unions of Serbia continued in all the garrisons and towns in the Republic of Serbia, where dwells the Army of Serbia and its organizational units.

Dana 26.08.2015. , the Military Union of Serbia has achieved one of the main goals of the trade union struggle, gained a condition for recognition of the representativeness of the employer in the Ministry of Defense and submitted a request for its determination. After an exhaustive struggle with the employer after 7 months, finally 30.03.2015.godine, Defense Minister issues a decision Military union representativity Serbian determined by the employer, which the union of Serbia and the war officially became the first representative union in the history of the Army of Serbia. Today Military Union of Serbia has over 6,000 members organized in more than 45 trade union groups throughout the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

After the formation of the Military Trade Unions of Serbia, its first president was then Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Capo, serving in the River Flotilla in Novi Sad. Soon, due to a sudden serious illness, and later the termination of professional military service, the duty of the President takes his deputy Novica Antic, which is still at the head of the Military Trade Unions of Serbia.
